City Animal Services says BARC is at 2435 Miracle Mile, opened after construction completed in summer 2026, and replaced the older Bullhead City Animal Shelter.

If your pet is lost

• Call BARC at 928-763-6000.
• Make a lost report on Petco Love Lost.
• Check the City Adopt a Pet page because animals on stray holds may appear there.

• Update microchip registration and keep your phone available.
• Bring proof of ownership if your pet is at the facility.

If you found an animal

• Call BARC before bringing the animal in.

• Keep the animal separate from your own pets and children if temporarily holding.
• Do not privately rehome the animal before the owner has a chance to reclaim.

To get a license, show proof of your dog’s current rabies vaccination from a veterinarian.

Animal Enforcement says dogs are required to wear a current Bullhead City license tag at all times.

City Animal Enforcement says residents may own up to three dogs and three cats over four months old per household.

Dogs at large

Bites

If bitten, seek medical attention, remember where the animal was last seen, get a clear description, contain only if safe, then call Animal Enforcement.

Abandonment

The City states abandoning animals is a criminal offense. Contact BARC for rehoming resources instead.

Nuisance complaints

Animal Enforcement responds to nuisance animal complaints and licensing violations.

Feral or stray cats

The City recommends not feeding feral cats and avoiding outdoor pet food that attracts coyotes, skunks and raccoons.

Off-leash parks

The City lists enclosed off-leash dog parks at Community Park, 1251 Highway 95, and Rotary Park, 2315 Balboa Drive.

Water and shade

Provide fresh water and shade, and consider a shallow kiddie pool for outdoor cooling.

Hot cars

Never leave pets in a vehicle. The City notes temperatures inside a car can rise quickly even with windows cracked.

Walk dogs early morning or evening to prevent burned paw pads.

Do not leave alone
